Information
- Package: squid
- Summary: The Squid proxy caching server
- Description: Squid is a high-performance proxy caching server for Web clients, supporting FTP, gopher, and HTTP data objects. Unlike traditional caching software, Squid handles all requests in a single, non-blocking, I/O driven process. Squid keeps meta data and especially hot objects cached in RAM, caches DNS lookups, supports non-blocking DNS lookups, and implements negative caching of failed requests.
Test Scenarios
Test case 1
This is a functional testcase for squid. This particular script is best run as root, just to view the squid access logs. You will need to manually start squid, and the script should work with a default configuration, so there should be nothing to change as far as squid's configuration file goes. It is a simple script that uses lynx to test the HTTP and FTP proxy capabilities of squid. It will check to make sure squid is running on port 3128 or 3328 (the latter being the default port for MNF2) before attempting to execute any tests.
